What is Operational

Excellence In Home Building?

Operational excellence is identified as our best-selling floor plans engineered to be more efficient in terms of material, content, and field constructability. We also have developed a series of specification appliques (upper end appliances, cabinets, flooring, lighting, etc.) that align with our different target consumer groups. Music is all around us it’s, the chirping of the birds, the woosh of the cars, it’s the gurgle of a water fountain, or the sound of rain splattering on the pavement, it's the bristling of leaves rustling on trees as the wind blows, or the roar of airplanes over head, for some it’s the sound of a loved one’s voice. Music is in anything that expresses harmony or conveys something one wants to hear. Music is anything that distributes sound and creates an emotion, mood, or feeling, whether it’s welcome sounds, or grating nerve wrecking noise which compels one to change the channel, shut the window, or have some other emotional response. Essentially music to one may simply be irritating to another, but that' s music.

Atmosphere and Ambiance Ricks Boat Yard Cafe

My sister and I went to Ricks Boat Yard Cafe. It was a sweltering day after church and we were in the mood to have some great tasting sea food combined with a want to indulge in the inviting and upbeat aura of Ricks. In their lot as soon as my feet hit the pavement I was greeted by a blast of heat, not wanting to wait, standing in the hot sun, for my sister pulling her car into a much farther parking space toward the back of the marina. In fluid movements I headed toward the building’s front facade and open doors as she called out “hey wait”. I feel the instant gush of air and immediately sense the pace begin to subtly change.

I look around and drink in the ambiance as crooners play live jazz and I spy splendid small little yachts on Eagle Creek through the large windows, certainly the restaurant’s theme begins to sink in. While @ dinner my sister and I notice many diverse families chatting and in the troughs of conversation some were large families gathered at tables to accommodate such a group, to small families, from 1st dates to old married couples. Everyone seemed to enjoy the mood. My senses were peaked each time the waiter brought out food to waiting guests. My sis and I strained to see what new delectable food was accompanying the smell and presentation, as it took us quite a long time to make up our minds due to the amount of seemingly endless variety of succulent seafood dishes. Looking out onto Eagle Creek watching the elegant boats drift casually by, plus great food and cool music, all of my sense were more then indulged and pampered.
Movies for Those Who Like Movies
The movie experience is one of sight and sounds and surprisingly smell. From the many times that I have gone to the movies the prerequisite is popcorn and soda. I attempted to fore go the snack but once inside that dark theater with the smell of popcorn assailing the nostrils and the crunch and munch of those enjoying the salty treats all around the theater one is compelled to indulge. As the movie starts I noticed true to form by previous experience I am fully engulfed by the surrounds, story line and visuals of course the popcorn and soda don’t hurt either.

Day

As I consider this project I am struck with the contrast of the feeling of a day getting ready for work versus a day on the weekend.

When I have to work the pace is much faster, I immediately get out of bed no lingering to look around and enjoy the wind gently blowing on the bright green leaves in the tree outside my windows.

Instead, I think about how annoying my alarm clock sounds, and head for the bathroom.

Stepping on the cold ceramic I sleepily turn on the shower grabbing a fresh white towel and tossing it onto the holder. I don’t linger to smell the aromatic sent of the laundry detergent whipping off of my towel; I just hop in the shower.

On days off this should be my most relaxing time, feeling the water streaming down on my hair and skin, I usually relish in the feeling and relinquish all thoughts other than soaking my hair with my yummy Bath and Body complete all in one shampoo, body wash and bubble bath.

As the steam fills the shower I lean against the tile as beads of water dribble off of my soothed and soaked head while feeling the newness of a washcloth seemingly scrubbing better than their older counterparts. Yet on days heading off to work, as I am usually pressed for time, instead I think about the events of the upcoming day paying zero heed to water, or feelings of flowing anything .

After popping out of the shower I dry off and lotion up noticing the smell of the lotion wafting up into my senses. Of course on days preparing for work there is really none, or very little attention paid to these small portions of the day.

As I brush my teeth I am over come by how

hard I scrub, but nevertheless I feel a refreshing mouth clean feeling afterwards.

Taking all of this into account I came to the realization that being preoccupied with many of the daily and normal tasks, one creases to really pay any attention to the, smells, sights and feelings that accompany and make up a vast portion of the senses one encounters daily.

Music Melodies

I recently purchased a CD from my friendly neighborhood WalMart store which was called Dream Surf Sounds, this, the sounds of the ocean are so overpowering the initial reaction is complete and utter tranquility.

As

relaxation fills my body,

I am surprised by how swiftly my mind floods with harmonious visions of the ocean.

With the sounds illuminating my minds eye I am transported back to previous sea visits.

Sights of the ocean are envisioned.

The tide rising and falling as my feet are submerged in the surf and sand.

The calming and drifting water flows over my sand covered swim suit before the tide washes the water back out to sea just like a possessive little boy knowing the delights

of the ocean is “his toy”.

But just then another wave crashes in- on the shore there is that aahhh feeling once more, never departing.

As my reality and senses converge I reach over and turn up the volume while I read on my comfortable ottoman looking up from my book to see my puppy also relaxing to the sounds of the soothing sea.

Grocery Store

@ The grocery store I was hungry, but did not have a taste for anything in particular.

As I walked in the store I was first

greeted by sweets and bread. As a smelled the bread’s aroma wafting past my

senses I was compelled with a urge to immerse

my senses in the smell and go tripping down the bread isle for a

further look, but being only that

I had come to the store

to purchase an energy drink I decided to press on.

The very next step I was confronted with an entire table of cookies. Large ones, small ones, ones with icing and ones with sprinkles, as I stare over the delectable’s I remembered to consider what taste I had in my mouth, I noticed I still really didn’t have a taste for them, or anything else in my mouth for that matter, and mouth being the operative word, again I pressed on. Although my thoughts were for tasting the sweet treats and the thick smell of the bread was not unnoticed, I was on a mission for an energy drink so I continued ever forward thinking about the diet I need to try and at least have some vague semblance of adherence to, albeit somewhat .

I did notice the sights and smells really did get to me senses but the lack of want of taste in my mouth helped me stick to the task @ hand only which was, purchase of a low cal. energy drink.
